Director Appears on Oregon Public Broadcasting TV

OPB Poster

One of the several scholarly hats that Director Jeffrey Barlow wears is that of an expert on Asian immigration into the Pacific Northwest. He was extensively interviewed on the program "Kam Wah Chung" in the series "Oregon Experience" co-produced by Oregon Public Broadcasting TV and the Oregon Historical Society on May 14. This program features a Chinese-operated general store, which existed from the 1860's to the 1940's and was the focus of the book China Doctor of John Day, co-authored by Jeffrey and his wife, Christine Richardson. The program can be viewed at: http://www.opb.org/programs/oregonexperience/programs/20-Kam-Wah-Chung Jeffrey states that the Internet was very, very slow in those days...
