About the Journal

You are reading Interface,  the electronic journal of the Berglund Center for Internet Studies (BCIS). We publish eight times a year, monthly except for January-February and July-August. Our mission at BCIS is to facilitate both theoretical discussion and practical action relating to the impact of the Internet upon individuals and their communities worldwide. We are interested in the effects of the Internet on the ways we work, communicate, teach, and learn. We are supported with a generous grant from the Jim and Mary Berglund Foundation.

The audience for the journal is intended to be those engaged in education and business, and those with an interest in the impact of the Internet upon our society. Interface serves to announce our programs and to disseminate useful information about activities and practices related to the Internet. It is our goal to identify and publish information as to best practices whenever possible.

We are always interested in submissions from those who have information touching upon the impact of the Internet, or regarding specific activities or practices in which they have engaged as related to the Internet or computer-mediated instruction. We pay one hundred dollars per publication.

In addition, we also accept submissions to be published within a peer-reviewed context.  For the standards for these submissions please see: http://bcis.pacificu.edu/journal/2006/01/peerreview.php

To query our interests in particular pieces, contact Jeffrey Barlow at barlowj@pacificu.edu. It will speed communications if you place "BCIS Inquiry" in the subject header. Please see also our Call for Submissions at: http://bcis.pacificu.edu/journal/call.php

The Journal is produced at Pacific University. The Journal is edited by Professor Jeffrey Barlow, who also directs the Berglund Center. This site was designed by William Hyde. All inquiries are welcome.
