PRIME magazine: A multimedia experiment
PRIME is an online magazine that I have created which covers the themes of art, community and culture through the blending of text and video. Many newspapers and magazines are going online and even hiring videographers to develop their own unique web presence and this project is meant to reflect my vision of this transition.
As both a film major and a journalism major, I have decided to fuse the two disciplines together to form a magazine that features my own well-crafted journalistic pieces that are enhanced by high quality short films that I have shot and edited. After spending the year conducting many interviews and shooting hours of footage I have discovered a distinct set of stories including a feature covering the approval of the first charter school in Forest Grove.
In addition to my own work as a writer and filmmaker, this magazine was opened up to the Pacific community, as well as to people in the Portland metropolitan area. There will be work from those who submitted, making it a community effort of artistic and cultural work presented in an online format.
