Joseph Howell will be discussing the role of the Internet in the creation and implementation of international accounting standards that are language and culture-neutral. A tentative outline follows:

Biography

Joseph Howell serves as Managing Director of Financial Intelligence, LLC, a financial consulting firm headquartered in Mountain View, California. Prior to joining Financial Intelligence, Mr. Howell served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of eMusic.com (NASDAQ: EMUS), a provider of downloadable music (acquired by Universal Music), where he led the $92 million initial public offering and $33 million secondary offering. Mr. Howell also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Merix Corporation (NASDAQ: MERX), a manufacturer of technologically sophisticated printed circuit boards; Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Borland Software (NASDAQ: BORL). Mr. Howell has also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Eid Passport, a privately held company that provides security services for the US Government, and Executive Vice-President of Webridge, Inc., a privately held software company acquired by Click Commerce (NASDAQ: CKCM). Mr. Howell earned a BA from the University of Michigan and an MS in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University and is CPA in the State of Michigan (inactive).
