2008 Berglund Summer Institute Speakers
Keynote speaker: Ward Cunningham
The computer programmer who developed the first wiki, Ward is well-known for many widely dispersed ideas which he originated and developed. Among these, the most famous are the wiki and progress in the field of software patterns, including the collection of patterns and practices that later became known as "Extreme Programming" or "XP." He started programming the software WikiWikiWeb in 1994.
Leonard DuBoff is a founding member of the DuBoff Law Group, LLC. His practice areas in Intellectual Property include copyright, trademark, and patent litigation. The author of numerous books, Mr. DuBoff writes regular columns for the Berglund Center's online journal, Interface.
Michael Geraci is a professor of Integrated Media and Chair of the Media Arts department at Pacific University. A fan and student of new media, Michael was awarded a faculty development grant in 2005 to study pod casting as a pedagogical tool.
David Staley, Ph.D. is Director of the Harvey Goldberg Program for Excellence in Teaching and adjunct associate professor in the Department of History at The Ohio State University. He is currently at work on his third book tentatively titled "Visual Composition in History: A Guide for Teachers and Students."
